1940s 1950s Don Loper Silk Chiffon Dress
This Don Loper is incredible because it is essentially two silhouettes in one!
Underneath is a fitted black lace wiggle dress laid over a warm nude lining, creating that beautiful contrast that really shows off the intricate floral lace.
Over the fitted skirt falls a completely separate-looking full, flowing black silk chiffon overlay, giving the dress movement and softness without hiding the shape underneath.
The bodice continues the black lace over nude with a sweetheart effect beneath a sheer chiffon neckline and delicate flutter sleeves.
And then there is the back. A beautifully dramatic low open back framed in sheer chiffon and lace.
The combination of a fitted lace wiggle silhouette with that sweeping chiffon overskirt makes this such an unusual and special Don Loper design.
Condition: Beautiful condition with one area of a seam repair in the silk chiffon and a couple small lace breaks right at the back kick pleat. Both completely undetectable
